The St. Croix Reef Jam Committee is excited to announce our upcoming, 4th annual Reef Jam fundraiser on Sunday, May 29th from 1:00-10:00pm at Rhythms at Rainbow Beach in Frederiksted.  Last year the event drew over 1,000 attendees and raised more than $10,000 which provided funding for local coral reef education and outreach programs through our competitive Mini-Grants program.  The St. Croix Environmental Association (SEA) has been awarded funding to improve and continue offering free snorkel clinics to the St. Croix community and Beyond Visions Foundation will support a brand new aspect of their Nature Explorers’ Club called the Marine Environment and Education Program (MEEP).  MEEP students will learn about Areas of Particular Concern around St. Croix through a series of presentations from local experts and snorkel trips.

We invite you to take part in our 4th annual Reef Jam fundraiser on Sunday, May 29th from 1:00-10:00pm at Rhythms at Rainbow Beach, Frederiksted.  We will have many activities throughout the day including:

• Live music featuring local musicians
• Reeftivity Zone – a family activity zone with marine-related games and demonstrations
• Local and traditional food vendors
• T-shirt sales and raffle items
• Reef Rap – a lyrics and performance competition for local High School students
• Guest speakers and information booths and much more!

We already have tremendous support from the community volunteers to run this event.  Would you please consider donating in one or more of the following ways to make this event an even bigger success in 2011?

• Financial contributions to cover event costs and advertising
• Prize donations for raffle drawing and contests
• Specific items that your business can provide (banners, t-shirts, water, bar supplies, printing, etc.)

If you would like to make a cash donation, please make your check payable to the V.I. RC&D and specify Reef Jam in the Memo line. We will be happy to pick up any donations made to Reef Jam.  All donations are tax-deductible; we will provide a tax letter upon request.  Donations worth $500+ will be acknowledged in all advertisements, both radio, internet and printed material.
