2009 Reef Jam Mini-Grant Program:

Funds generated at Reef Jam 2009 will be available on a competitive basis through the 2009 Reef Jam Mini-Grant Program.

St. Croix community groups, school or student organizations, civic groups, government or non-government agencies/organizations, and individuals are invited and encouraged to apply for small ($500-$2,500) grants to fund marine-related education and conservation projects. Possible projects to be funded include: organizing beach/gut cleanups, designing marine themed murals, creating environmental education awareness materials, establishing youth environmental conservation groups, and more.

Anyone interested in applying for the 2009 St. Croix Reef Jam Mini-Grant Program will need to submit the following:

• A cover letter describing the group/individual’s background and interest in pursuing marine education and/or conservation activities, including any past awards or recognition received

• A detailed description of the project you wish to receive funding to support or partially support

• A budget and budget justification explaining use of received funds as well as an anticipated timetable describing when the work will be conducted

• Two letters of support from community members familiar with your work and your proposed project
