The St. Croix Reef Jam Committee is excited to announce our upcoming, 3rd annual Reef Jam fundraiser on Sunday, September 5th from 1:00-10:00pm at Rhythms at Rainbow Beach in Frederiksted. Last year the event drew over 1,000 attendees and raised more than $10,000 which provided funding for local coral reef education and outreach programs through our competitive Mini-Grants program. Our committee members were awarded the 2009 Coastal Zone Organization of the Year by VI Coastal Zone Management, and were selected as winners of the prestigious 2009 US-EPA Environmental Quality Award, bringing national recognition to our island! If you are not familiar with us, Reef Jam is a St. Croix grass-roots organization dedicated to improving the health of our coral reefs through community education, stewardship and conservation programs which promote positive behavior changes toward our marine environment. Please join us at our 3nd annual Reef Jam fundraiser on Sunday, September 5th from 1:00-10:00pm at Rhythms at Rainbow Beach, Frederiksted. We will have many activities throughout the day including: - Live music from 3 local bands
- Family Activity Corner with marine-related games and demonstrations
- Sustainable Seafood Cooking Competition, featuring Tilapia
- Local and traditional food vendors
- T-shirt sales and raffle items
- Guest speakers, information booths and much more!
We already have tremendous support from the community volunteers to run this event. Would you please consider donating in one or more of the following ways to make this event an even bigger success in 2010? - Financial contributions to cover event costs and advertising
- Prize donations for raffle drawing and contests
- Specific items that your business can provide (banners, t-shirts, water, bar supplies, printing, etc.)
If you would like to make a cash donation, please make your check payable to the V.I. RC&D and specify Reef Jam in the Memo line. We will be happy to pick up any donations made to Reef Jam.
